Most common terms



At BookingSuite we use terms related to property websites that might or might not be familiar to you. To make sure that all of our partners are on the same page when it comes to these terms, here is a list of the most common ones with a brief explanation. 

 

ADR: Stands for Average Daily Rate and tells you what guests on average pay for a room at your property. This is calculated by dividing the total gross revenue made from your rooms sold by the number of rooms sold.

BackOffice: Your BookingSuite website management system where you can login to and make changes to your website.

Bookings:  Number of gross bookings made through your BookingSuite website.

Bounce RatePercentage that tells you how many of your visitors left your website after only viewing one page.  

Looks: Number of visits where the visitor clicked the “Book Now” buttons on any page of your BookingSuite website (i.e. The visits that “looked” at the booking engine on the website).

Look-to-Book Conversion: Percentage that tells you how many of your website visitors that looked at your booking engine also ended up making a booking. This is calculated by dividing the number of bookings made on your BookingSuite website by total number of clicks on your "Book Now" buttons in a given period. 

Meta Title: The title of website page.

New Visitors: Number of visitors to your BookingSuite website, that have not visited your website before, over the past 30 days.

Occupancy: Occupancy is calculated as the number of rooms booked through your BookingSuite website divided by the total number of rooms available to BookingSuite for a given period

Returning Visitors: Number of visitors to your BookingSuite website, that have visited your website before, over the past 30 days.

Revenue:  Gross revenue from bookings made through your BookingSuite website.

Room nights:  Number of gross room nights from the bookings made through your BookingSuite website.

Top Browser Languages: The languages that your visitors use most often when visiting your BookingSuite website. These languages are shown as codes. To learn which code stands for which language visit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1

Top Bounce Sources: These are websites that drive traffic to your website, however often results in a bounce (see Bounce Rate). 

Top Converting Pages: The pages on your BookingSuite website that a guest was on before they clicked on a "Book Now" button.  

Top Converting Sources: Top websites and organic search terms that brought visitors to your website. 

Visits: Number of visits to your BookingSuite website.

Visit-to-Look Conversion: Percentage that tells you how many of your website visitors have actually clicked on the “Book Now” button. This is calculated by dividing the number of clicks on the "Book Now" button by the total by total number of visits for a given date range. 

Website RevPAR: stands for Revenue Per Available Room and tells you how much revenue you have made on average per room that is available through your BookingSuite website, regardless if the room has been sold or not. There are two ways to calculate this: 

  • Total gross revenue made from your rooms sold through your BookingSuite website divided by total number of rooms available on your BookingSuite website
  • Average occupancy on BookingSuite website multiplied by Average Daily Rate (ADR)
